iJET® and Independance Air Settle Trademark Suit
Annapolis, Maryland - December 8, 2004 -
iJET® Travel Risk Management, the industry leader in delivering comprehensive global threat assessments and integrated crisis response capabilities to multinational organizations, today announced that it has reached an amicable settlement in its complaint against Independence Air (Atlantic Coast Airlines and Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings, Inc.).
The suit, filed in July in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, was prompted by Independence Air's use of the "iJET®" mark in reference to its fleet of planes. iJET® is a registered mark of iJET Travel Risk Management, and under the terms of the agreement, Independence Air has agreed to cease its use of the iJET® mark.
"We appreciate Independence Air´s willingness to work through this issue with us in a timely manner," said Marty Pfinsgraff, iJET Chief Operating Officer. "As a result, both parties were able to avoid the significant costs of protracted litigation."
