iJET Taps Veteran Intelligence Specialist as Vice President of Intelligence Operations
Annapolis, Maryland - June 6, 2003 - iJET Travel Intelligence (iJET), the travel risk management
company, today announced the promotion of Richard Melody to Vice President of
Intelligence Operations. Melody has 24 years experience as an intelligence professional
and manager, including a well-decorated career with the National Security Agency
(NSA) and Air Force Intelligence. He has lived and worked in Germany, Italy, England,
Spain and Australia, supervising up to 45 employees providing real-time intelligence
operations.
Melody, who was iJET's Director of Watch Operations, will lead a team of more than 30
full-time regional and category specialists from the fields of intelligence, security,
travel and health who staff iJET's around-the-clock intelligence operations and
response center in Annapolis, Maryland.
iJET´s team of intelligence analysts and specialists monitor more than 7,000 sources in 182 countries and 268 cities
worldwide to inform business and leisure travelers of changing conditions around
the globe and advise them on avoiding and managing travel disruptions. iJET´s
intelligence analysts average 18 years of experience in security and intelligence
and collectively speak 16 languages fluently.

Before joining iJET, Melody worked in the Operations Directorate of the NSA, where he
most recently served as a branch manager of a real-time Watch Operation. He is
also a Professionalized Language Analyst at NSA, a certified Adjunct Faculty Instructor
at the National Cryptologic School, and a graduate of the NSA Military Linguist
Program.
Melody holds a B.A. in Russian Area Studies with a minor in Business Management from
the University of Maryland, an A.A.S. in Interpreting and Translating, and an
Aerospace Management Certificate from the Community College of the Air Force.
He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCO) and
was a distinguished graduate of the NCO Leadership School. Melody also studied
Russian at the Defense Language Institute and Serbo-Croatian at the Inlingua School
of Languages.
