iJET to Supply Travel intelligence Services to WorldMed.MD
Annapolis, Maryland - January 24, 2002 - iJET Travel Intelligence, the leading provider of
real-time intelligence for the global travel industry, will provide its comprehensive
destination intelligence and real-time travel alerts to WorldMed.MD, a supplier
of travel medical services and travel insurance.
The WorldMed.MD customer call-center will have full access to iJET´s WorldcuePro
service, an extensive database of up-to-the-minute intelligence for 150 countries
and select cities, to assist in the support of WorldMed.MD´s international clients.
iJET´s travel intelligence covers health, security, entry/exit, transportation,
communication, finance, culture, environment, legal and language.
Through their WorldCell phone and e-mail, WorldLink travelers receive iJET alerts that
provide immediate notice of emerging or evolving conditions on their route that
may impact their trip, along with recommendations for minimizing disruptions.
Travelers can be connected around-the-clock to the WorldLink travel and assistance
center for help with travel problems including medical referrals, emergency claims
assistance, passport replacement, and legal referrals.
"Our goal for the WorldCell service has always been to provide a lifeline to the office
or home when traveling abroad. We have done this for years by providing a single
phone and phone number for our customers, regardless of their destination. The
WorldLink program takes that commitment a significant step further by putting
the power of information in our customers' hands when they need it the most,"
said Blake Swensrud, IMC WorldCell´s Chairman and CEO. "It is one thing to
check travel advisories before leaving home, but something else entirely in an
ever-changing world to receive real-time, relevant security updates once you are
on the road."
In addition to real-time wireless alerts, WorldLink
provides travelers with a personal WorldcueTraveler Web site from iJET that
contains detailed destination intelligence based on each traveler´s itinerary
and profile, taking into account such factors as age, gender, and health conditions.
iJET continuously monitors more than 5,000 sources from around the world, covering
issues related to security, health, entry/exit, transportation, communication,
finance, culture, environment, legal and language.
David Abramson, MD, medical director at WorldMed.MD, said the company is "pleased
to be able to make use of iJET´s timely and authoritative intelligence to help
keep customers healthy and safe as they travel. No one else monitors the world
continuously or so effectively in support of travelers."
WorldMed.MD will also make iJET´s WorldcueTraveler service available to clients, which
provides alerts and detailed destination intelligence personalized for each traveler's
itinerary and profile (taking into account such factors as age, gender and health
conditions). Travelers receive alerts before, during and after their travel about
changing conditions that may impact their travel, with recommendations for minimizing
disruptions. An example of the value of post-trip alerts is notification of an
outbreak of an infectious disease such as dengue fever as reported in numerous
countries over the past six months.
"We are delighted for the opportunity to work with WorldMed.MD," said iJET CEO
Bruce McIndoe. "Travelers can feel secure knowing that iJET´s operations
center is monitoring the globe 24/7 to help them avoid problems, while WorldMed.MD´s
comprehensive travel insurance and travel medical services are ready to assist
them immediately if they do need help."
