MultiNational Underwriters, Inc. and iJET Announce Revolutionary New Offering Combining Travel Insurance and Travel Intelligence
Annapolis, Maryland - September 19, 2001 - iJET Travel Intelligence, the travel industry´s
premier private intelligence organization, signed an agreement to provide travel
intelligence services for MultiNational Underwriters, Inc. (MNUI), vendor of the
most comprehensive international medical insurance available. Lloyd's of London
insures all MNUI products.
Through the iJET agreement, MNUI will offer
its customers one free Atlas Trip Brief with each purchase of Atlas Travel Insurance.
Customers will be given an opportunity to purchase additional Atlas Trip Briefs
at a discount. Atlas Travel Briefs are concise, up-to-the-minute destination summaries
drawn from iJET´s database of travel conditions in 150 countries and select cities
worldwide. Atlas Trip Brief will be integrated into MNUI´s Atlas Travel Insurance
and included with each international-destination policy. iJET maintains its extensive
knowledge base by monitoring the world 24x7, every day of the year. Highly skilled
regional and topical experts check more than 5,000 sources worldwide - many in
foreign languages - and verify all facts, evaluate the impact in travelers and
distill key information into clear, direct intelligence.
"By proactively communicating with our clients what they need to know before they go and keeping
them informed about breaking situations that might impact their trip, MNUI is
setting a new standard for travel insurance and related services", said Bill
Atkins, Executive Vice President at MNUI.
Policyholders will be given the option to purchase WorldcueTraveler, iJET´s
Travel Intelligence service
that is personalized to each traveler´s itinerary and profile. Users also receive
real-time alerts - no matter where they are in the world - about events or situations
that may disrupt their travel. Alerts are delivered before, during and up to 30
days after a trip to help policyholders avoid and manage travel hassles.
MNUI also will include Atlas Trip Brief and WorldcueTraveler in its e-commerce
ordering engine to give customers the option to purchase travel intelligence when
buying travel insurance, in one seamless transaction. MNUI´s ordering engine is
syndicated on about 1,000 travel-related Web sites.
iJET Chairman and CEO John Power added, "Mr. Glazebrook brings a wealth of knowledge,
insight and experience to iJET's security team. Of the 10 categories iJET covers,
security has always been one of the most crucial and is even more so now in light
of the tragedies of September 11, 2001. That we can attract Mr. Glazebrook´s level
of talent and expertise further solidifies iJET as the leader in our field. I
am delighted to have him on the Security Board."
"Our partnership with MNUI advances travel insurance from a passive product - helping travelers
after they've encountered trouble - to a proactive product that protects travelers
from the hassles they might find on the road," said iJET Chairman and CEO,
John Power. "This is a win-win-win for travelers, MNUI and iJET. Traveler
awareness will help MNUI´s claims experience, keeps travelers safer and better
informed, and further solidify iJET´s position as the top provider of travel intelligence."
