iJET Travel Intelligence Officer John Power Named Chief Executive Officer
Annapolis, Maryland - February 28, 2001 - iJET Travel Intelligence, Inc. has named Chairman
John W. Power as its Chief Executive Officer. Power, a former deputy chief executive officer of Air France and chairman of Amadeus, a global distribution system for travel agents, will take over the CEO duties
immediately. He also retains his post as chairman of iJET.
iJET is the first intelligence organization for the travel industry. Through its WorldcuePro
and WorldcueDirect services, it provides travelers and those who assist them with
timely, accurate, personalized and affordable information to enhance trips by
alerting travelers to potential travel problems.
Former CEO and iJET Founder Paul Stiles, has been named chief of international development
and will focus on advancing the company´s global development strategy. Stiles
also will retain his title as founder.
Power has extensive senior-level experience in the travel industry. As deputy chief
executive officer for Air France, he was responsible for Commercial Affairs, including
the management of 18,000 staff members and 210 aircraft, from the company's Paris
headquarters. Additionally, he spent more than 25 years with British Airways,
serving as senior vice president of the Americas division, and senior general
manager of world sales. He has also served as a director on the boards of Galileo
UK and Galileo International. Most recently, Power was president and chief executive
officer of Avionitek, an aviation technology company.
