iJET® Files Suit Against Independance Air for Trademark Infringement
Annapolis, Maryland - July 12, 2004 - iJET® Travel Risk Management (iJET®) filed a trademark infringement complaint against Independence Air (Atlantic Coast Airlines and Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings, Inc.) in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
"We have worked hard and invested considerable resources to ensure that the brand iJET® stands for protecting travelers and helping to ensure their safety and security," said Marty Pfinsgraff, iJET Chief Operating Officer. "Litigation was the only recourse that we had to protect our brand from the media blitz being carried out by Independence Air and their very targeted use of our registered trademark, "iJET®".
The suit was prompted by Independence Air's use of the "iJET®" mark in reference to its fleet of planes. iJET® is a registered mark of iJET® Travel Risk Management.
